A week and a half after the incident, family and friends are mourning the loss of 24-year-old Gurviner Nath, who was killed in a carjacking incident on June 9 in the middle of a pizza delivery.

Nath had arrived at the designated Mississauga address to deliver an order when he was confronted by multiple people who attempted to take his vehicle. A "physical altercation" followed, which left the victim with life-threatening injuries.

The victim moved to Canada from India two years ago to study business. He was working at the Mississauga pizza restaurant for just nine months. Five days after the attack earlier this month, Nath succumbed to his injuries and died in hospital.

On Saturday night, at 7 p.m. ET, a vigil will be held for Nath. Global’s Catherine McDonald reports.
