As of Monday, fully vaccinated Canadians and permanent residents are able to re-enter Canada from outside the country without having to quarantine for 14 days after new travel rules took effect.

Under the new rules, everyone still requires a negative COVID-19 test result on their arrival and must take one when they get back into the country as well as provide proof of vaccination.

But even though it’s led to reunions for some people, as Abigail Bimman reports, there are still questions remaining including why fully vaccinated Americans can’t come into Canada.

At the same time, Canadians who have been separated due to the restrictions are finally able to reunite. Mike Drolet reports on the excitement and emotion people are feeling, but also the roadblocks that remain for some.
