Among all the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, travel was top of mind for many. After the border with the United States reopening this year and travel advisories were softened, so many Canadians were desperate to get moving again.
"I've done everything I'm supposed to do and I want to start living my life. I don't have many more years," one traveller told Global News.
As millions of Canadians got vaccinated, the federal government removed its advisory, cautioning against non-essential travel. And by the end of the year, they were repeating a familiar warning.
