Canadian businesses push for more help as Ottawa extends deadline for CEBA repayment

With Canadian businesses still struggling during the pandemic amid Omicron's rise, the federal government is now giving them more time to repay interest-free loans from the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) program.

The CEBA provided up to $60,000 to nearly 900,000 businesses across Canada. If repaid by the new deadline at the end of 2023, up to $20,000 could be forgiven.

But as Abigail Bimman reports, some business owners say they need more help, with so many desperately trying to keep the lights on.
