German Economy Minister Robert Habeck is in China to discuss trade relations, but a planned meeting with Premier Li Qiang (LEE CHI-ANG) was cancelled at the last minute without explanation. The cancellation comes amid growing Chinese anger over EU plans to increase tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles. Habeck said the EU was open to negotiate but said China's backing for Russia's war on Ukraine was what was really damaging trade relations. DW’s China analyst Clifford Coonan has more details.
