California shooting: At least 3 killed, 4 wounded in Los Angeles neighbourhood

At least three people were killed and four others were wounded, two critically, police said, in a shooting in LA’s Beverly Crest neighbourhood on Saturday.

Officers responded to multiple 911 calls after the shooting took place around 2:30 a.m. Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Bruce Borihahn said the shooting took place outside of what police believe to be a short-term rental.

The incident comes after recent back-to-back mass shootings in California. A gunman killed 11 people in a dance hall in Monterey Park, near Los Angeles, on Jan. 21 and seven people were shot dead in the coastal city of Half Moon Bay two days later.

Borihahn said the police were waiting for the coroner to confirm the ages and genders of the victims. He said the public was not believed to be in any further danger.
