Philadelphia shooting: 2 suspects in custody after 5 killed, 2 children wounded

Police are investigating a mass shooting that took place in Philadelphia, Pa. on Monday and resulted in five fatalities and left two children wounded, but in stable condition.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said two suspects had been taken into custody — the man believed to be the shooter and another person supposedly connected to the attack.

The primary suspect, a 40-year-old man was described to be wearing a bullet-proof vest and had a police scanner, an AR-style rifle, and a handgun when apprehended.

The second person taken into custody is believed to have returned fire on the shooter.

The shooting encompassed several city blocks and left behind dozens of bullet casings.
