In parts of northern California, floodwaters began to recede on Monday after levee failures caused flash flooding near Wilton in Sacramento County.
Video showed overturned and submerged vehicles that were pushed off the road during the weekend storm.
Residents were asked to evacuate and move to higher ground after the first levee failed on Saturday.
Northern California has been slammed by a powerful weather system called an "atmospheric river" that brought heavy rain to the region. Additional storms are expected this week, according to the National Weather Service.
