The mayor of Calgary, Jyoti Gondek, will not attend will not attend the city's annual menorah lighting, after she said the event shifted toward a more political nature. This comes after a release sent by the organization running the event outlines the theme for this year's festivities is 'unity, supporting Israel, and demonstrating Jewish pride.'
