Health inspectors have uncovered three critical violations at a kitchen shared by multiple Calgary daycares linked to an E. coli outbreak, the Alberta government confirms.

There are now 264 confirmed cases of E. coli from the outbreak, with 25 children in hospital, and 22 of them having developed a serious blood and kidney condition.

Sarah Offin looks at the findings, how parents are reacting and what Dr. Mark Joffe, Alberta's chief medical officer of health, said for the first time since the outbreak.
