Boris Johnson officially resigns as an MP

Boris Johnson has formally resigned as an MP, a source close to the former Prime Minister has said.

It comes shortly after it was confirmed that Nigel Adams, the former MP for Selby and Ainsty, had also formally stepped down from his role.
