President Joe Biden and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi have agreed to formally end the US combat mission in Iraq by the end of 2021, 18 years since US troops were first sent there.
He says the US's troops will now focus on training the Iraqi military and its counterterrorism campaign to fight ISIL (ISIS) in Iraq.
Al-Kadhimi was on a visit to the White House.
