The Winter Olympics will be held in a month's time in Beijing but the event has been dogged by a coronavirus outbreak, despite China's zero-COVID-19 policy, strict lockdowns and the possible threat of the Omicron strain.
Several Western governments have said they will not be sending their diplomats to attend the Games in protest of the treatment of Uighurs in the Xinjiang region.
