At least eight people were killed on Saturday in Boksburg, South Africa after a gas tanker stuck under a low bridge exploded.
The blast blew the roof of the emergency department at Tambo Memorial Hospital, destroyed two homes and several cars, and injured bystanders. Eyewitnesses said they heard a loud boom and saw a large fire burning.
"There was a huge jolt," said Jean Marie Booysen. "I saw immense flames, I thought a house was on fire."
Emergency services officials said the investigation was still ongoing.
