At least six people have been killed after shootings broke out during protests in Beirut, Lebanon on Thursday that were held over the investigation into the blast at the city's port that occurred in August 2020.
Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi told reporters that many of the injured were shot by snipers from buildings. It is not known at this time who fired the shots.
The protests were organized by Hezbollah and one of its allies, the Shi'ite Amal Movement, both of whom want the lead investigator on the blast investigation be removed from the role.
