Anti-semitic hate crime on the rise across Canada, US

Over the last several years, anti-semitic comments and acts have been on a sharp rise both in Canada and in the U.S. To some, it's gotten to a worrying point where they're becoming normalized.

Former president Donald Trump has refused to disavow sitting at dinner with two of the most prominent anti-semites in the U.S., one of them being celebrity Kanye West.

In Canada, offences targeting the Jewish community comprised 14 per cent of all hate crimes, even though the community makes up only one per cent of the population according to Statistics Canada.

As Farah Nasser reports, many factors are now driving the mainstreaming of anti-Jewish hate today. And it's left communities wondering why not enough is being done to curb it.
