A new drug has been hailed as a turning point in the fight against Alzheimer's, slowing cognitive decline in trials by up to 35%.

The medicine, called Donanemab, slowed down cognitive decline in trials by up to 35% - allowing patients to live independently for longer.

Alzheimer's Research UK has said treatments like this mean one day the conditions could be treatable like other long-term such as asthma or diabetes.
