Frustration from youth opposed to Alberta’s proposed LGBTQ2 policies was evident at schools as hundreds of students across the province participated in a school walkout.

For transgender students like Akira Hesslein the message is clear.

“We’re not happy with this, and we’re going to keep fighting until this is taken care of.”

From parental consent on changing pronouns to age limits on surgery, Premier Danielle Smith says the policies are meant to protect kids.

But the debate is getting a loud reaction from both sides.
