A new UN resolution has been put forward to extend a mandate for aid deliveries to northern Syria.
Nearly a thousand trucks bring supplies from Turkey every month through the aid mechanism.
But the aid programme is set to expire on Saturday, if Russia refuses to approve its extension
Russia has said the aid should be delivered to the government of Bashar al-Assad in Damascus.
The UN has warned that failing to extend the aid operation could lead to a humanitarian catastrophe.
