The state of Michoacan in southwest Mexico has seen some of the worst violence in the country in recent months as the Jalisco New Generation Cartel invades from the state next door and local groups try to stop it.
Al Jazeera visited the epicentre of the battle, the town of Aguililla, earlier this year.
