Oymyakon is the coldest inhabited place on the Planet. This is where the lowest temperature of the Northern Hemisphere was recorded back in the 1930s (-71.2°C).

Right now, Oymyakon is a new hot spot for YouTubers from around the world who are looking for captivating content in the place where hot water freezes instantly outside and you can easily hammer in nails with frozen fruit.

We started off in Yakutsk – the capital of Yakutia (which Oymyakon is part of) and the largest city built in permafrost. Then we followed the Road of Bones, a highway with dark history built in the 1930s to link GULAG camps, that took us to the village of Tomtor in Oymyakon.
