The Metropolitan Police has been placed in 'special measures' by the police watchdog after a series of scandals, from the way it handled the Sarah Everard murder case, to offensive messages and photos shared by officers and the failure to properly investigate the serial killer Stephen Port. The force will now be placed under "additional scrutiny and support" to help it make improvements.
We spoke to Mina Smallman who has been campaigning for an end to the 'toxic culture' within the Met following the murder of her two daughters.
Two police officers were later jailed for sharing photographs and highly offensive comments about the murdered women.
