A New Zealand dermatologist says young people using anti-ageing products to preserve their youthful skin is a "big problem".

In Sweden, 400 pharmacies are banning the sale of anti-ageing skincare to children amid concerns social media is driving children to use the products prematurely.

Those under the age of 15 will now need a parent to buy products which include exfoliating ingredients.

This includes products which contain AHA and BHA acids, along with Vitamin A.
Dermatology Hawke's Bay dermatologist Dr Juber Hafiji told Breakfast the trend creates an "unhealthy relationship" with one's skin.
