A three-year-old boy has been rescued from a sinking car by police officers in Miami in the United States.

He was travelling with his father when their car swerved off the road and into a nearby canal.

While the father was able to escape, his young son was trapped in his car seat.

Another officer performed CPR on the child who was then rushed to hospital.
