Yellowknife, the capital of the Northwest Territories, is on high alert over fears a nearby wildfire could creep closer to the city of roughly 20,000 people.
The Canadian territory has declared a state of emergency over its deepening fire crisis, which has burned more than 2.1 million hectares of land this year so far, while making evacuations from the region challenging.
