US election: Biden inches closer to presidency with leads in key states

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is gaining more of a lead on President Donald Trump in the battleground states of Pennyslvania, Nevada and Georgia, putting him one step closer to the White House as states continue to count ballots.

The Associated Press has projected Biden to win Arizona, meaning a victory in Georgia, Pennsylvania or Nevada would push Biden to the 270-vote threshold.

Trump’s likeliest path appears narrower – he needs to hang onto both Pennsylvania and Georgia and to overtake Biden in either Nevada or Arizona. As Jackson Proskow reports, the changing electoral map has Trump ramping up attacks on the electoral process.

As of Friday evening, Biden leads Trump in Pennsylvania by more than 21,000 votes. Trump cannot win without the state. Mike Armstrong reports from Philadelphia, a city on edge.
