French yachtsman Kevin Escoffier relives his experience after being rescued by fellow round-the-world competitor Jean Le Cam.

Escoffier spent 11 hours adrift in a life raft after his yacht was smashed in two by giant waves off the Cape of Good Hope.

The Vendee Globe race started last month with the first boat expected to return in the middle of January - it runs every four years.
