Woody the Talking Christmas Tree returns to Nova Scotia mall for yet another holiday season

For the third year in a row, a gigantic talking Christmas tree has captured the imagination of young children throughout the Halifax area.

After a 15-year hiatus, Woody made headlines in 2021 when he popped up at the busy shopping centre following calls for his return from hibernation.

His unique appearance has stirred debate for decades now — since his introduction in the 1980s — and has even inspired a line of charity merchandise where proceeds go to the local children’s hospital.
