A hospital lawyer from New Orleans told a doctor that she was no longer allowed to perform D&E procedures on pregnant women with nonviable fetuses due to the state's abortion trigger laws. Dr. Valerie Willams shared her personal experience of being refused to administer a D&E on a 16-weeks pregnant woman, who already knew her fetus was not viable, due to Louisiana’s trigger laws going into effect, thus forcing the woman to go into labor and deliver the dead fetus, losing almost a liter of blood and being traumatized in the process.
