A man jokingly asked three people whether the two suitcases they were carrying towards Clifton Suspension Bridge contained bodies.

Giles Malone said he was about to help the two men with their bags when "something made me stop".

The two men left the suitcases next to his feet for several minutes before a woman appeared to help them take the cases away.

Mr Giles told Sky News the bags may have been heavy because they were filled with ballast to help them sink to the bottom of the river below the bridge.
