South Korea has the lowest birth rate in the world, and it continues to plummet, beating its own staggeringly low record year after year.

If this trend continues Korea’s population will halve by 2100.

Governments have thrown money at the problem, giving parents monthly cash handouts and subsidised housing. But nothing has seemed to cut through and policymakers have been accused of not listening to young women about their needs.

The BBC has spoken to three women about their decision to have or not have children.
