School attendance is at crisis point as the latest figures reveal that in the first term of this academic year pupils had the worst attendance on record.

There are thousands of so called "ghost children" who miss huge chunks of their education.

With absence rates at nearly double pre-pandemic levels, Sky News' People and Politics Correspondent Nick Martin has a special report about why children aren't going to school.
