The Winter Olympics will kick off with the opening ceremony on Feb. 4, making Beijing the first city to host both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. But these 2022 Games have brought a host of controversies. The PBS NewsHour’s Nick Schifrin details the COVID concerns that have locked down major cities across the country, diplomatic boycotts over China’s treatment of the Muslim Uighur population and athletes’ concerns over censorship and government tracking.
