Residents of Vernon, B.C. are being evacuated from their homes as thousands of wildfires burn across the province – including the White Rock Lake Fire.

For an eight-year-old girl named Bella who suffers from life-threatening seizures, she’s unaware of the evacuation after her family's property was completely burned down. Her grandparents told her she’s going on a camping trip.

Meanwhile, favourable conditions over the past few days have allowed crews to get a better handle on a number of fires burning around the province — 1,528 fires so far this season.

But while some progress is being made, officials say the province is far from in the clear.
