What local lichen can tell you about the air quality in your neighbourhood

Lichenologist Diane Haughland wrote the book on lichens of Alberta — literally. We took a walk with her through Edmonton's river valley to learn more about some of Alberta’s common lichen species and learned what their presence or absence can tell us about local air quality.
