The indigenously developed Feluda paper strip test for COVID-19 was launched in Delhi on Thursday, and it is expected to be rolled out on December 1 and will be made available to other states after that. The test is called a cheaper, faster and simpler alternative to RT-PCR, the gold standard in the diagnosis of COVID-19, and more accurate than an antigen test. Dr Debojyoti Chakraborty, senior Scientist at CSIR-IGIB, is one of the two creators of the paper strip test and speaks about it.
