Widespread gang violence and homelessness in Haiti are making it increasingly difficult to find food. Nearly 2 million people face emergency conditions. The UN World Food Programme warns that without urgent humanitarian action, Haiti could face famine. Currently, 5 million people are acutely food insecure, with 1.6 million in emergency conditions—the highest since the 2010 earthquake. Immediate and robust humanitarian response is required to prevent famine and address these severe needs. Local NGOs are crucial in providing daily hot meals amidst the crisis.
