'We were so amazed': Girl's hearing restored in pioneering gene therapy trial

A 18-month-old British girl has had her hearing restored after becoming the first person in the world to take part in a pioneering new gene therapy trial.

Paediatrician Richard Brown, who was part of the trial, told Sky News they were "amazed" to learn that Opal's hearing was nearly normal and are hoping she won’t even need a hearing aid.
