The cleanup is on in Atlantic Canada after raging floodwaters washed out roads and cut off communities in an unprecedented storm.

In Port-aux-Basques, N.L., significant repairs are underway on many roads, including the critical Trans-Canada Highway, which has been virtually impassable due to rain-related damage.

In Nova Scotia, almost 30 roads and bridges were closed by the time the rain stopped on Wednesday.

Ross Lord reports on the damage, and how RCMP came to the rescue of a couple and their dog in Newfoundland and Labrador.
