Dr. Jen Gunter, a gynecologist and author of "The Vagina Bible," tells the PBS NewsHour's Laura Santhanam that researchers have typically ignored or overlooked the differences that women experience, including after childbirth. Chronic postpartum complications can include pain with sex, incontinence, general pelvic pain and pain at the incision site after a cesarean section, as well as postpartum anxiety and depression.
