WATCH: Trump assassination attempt ‘significant’ failure, Secret Service head tells House committee

The attempted assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump was a “significant operation failure,” Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle told the House Oversight Committee on Monday.

The attack on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, left Trump and two others wounded. One person was killed.

Cheatle and the Secret Service have come under heavy criticism for their operations on that day and faced questions about how a gunman got close enough to attack a former president and presidential candidate.
