A woman who filmed herself killing a cat before putting the animal in a blender has been found guilty of murdering a man four months later.

Scarlet Blake strangled Jorge Martin Carreno and dumped his body in Oxford's River Cherwell in July 2021.

Blake killed the animal and Carreno after watching a Netflix documentary about a man who kills kittens before filming a murder. Carreno’s murder was considered an “unexplained death” until April 2023, after Blake confessed to a former partner who lives in the US.
