The uncle of Jacob Blake, a Black man who was shot seven times in the back earlier this year by a police officer in Kenosha, Wis., questioned on Tuesday why the officer's “first instinct” was to draw his weapon in front of Blake's children.
The Kenosha County district attorney announced Tuesday that the officer who shot Blake would not be charged.
B'Ivory LaMarr, an attorney for Blake, said they are “very disappointed” the officer was not charged and said they are considering civil action. He said he believes “there is no question” Jacob Blake's civil rights were violated.
Blake's injuries left him paralyzed, and set off sometimes-violent protests in the city.
