Amid supportive chants and applause, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio formally accepted the vice presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Wednesday, a day devoted to foreign policy and national security.

"I stand here humbled, and I'm overwhelmed with gratitude to say, I officially accept your nomination to be vice president of the United States of America," Vance said.

Trump named Vance as his running mate Monday. During the convention, delegates will adopt a party platform and Trump will address the convention Thursday.
