WATCH: Ingenuity's first flight on Mars

Hovering about 10 feet above the Martian surface for 39 seconds, NASA’s solar powered Ingenuity helicopter completed the first powered flight on another planet. The craft took off at 3:34 a.m. EDT, which was 12:33 Local Mean Solar Time on Mars. NASA researchers are now preparing for a second flight that could take place as early as April 22.
