Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Douglas Emhoff escorted former Vice President Mike Pence and second lady Karen Pence to their departure from the U.S. Capitol after Harris and President Joe Biden were sworn in on Wednesday.

While former President Donald Trump never formally conceded to Biden, Pence called Harris to offer his congratulations and assistance in the transition five days ago.
