WATCH: Harris and second gentleman Emhoff walk to Eisenhower Executive Office Building

Just hours after a historic swearing-in ceremony, Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff walked to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building next to the White House with family by their side. The daughter of Indian and Jamaican parents, Harris is the United States’ first woman of color to be vice president in the nation’s 244-year history. The 2021 inauguration comes amid a global pandemic that has modified inauguration traditions, and just two weeks after pro-Trump extremists attacked the U.S. Capitol.
