Wairoa residents don’t know what happened to loved ones after cyclone swept through

The town of Wairoa remains completely cut off from the outside world.

Electricity, internet, cell coverage, and the roads into town have been brought to their knees by Cyclone Gabrielle, making it difficult or even impossible to contact friends or whānau.
