Russian mercenary leader and Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin has shared his first video since he ordered a revolt on Russia's military headquarters in Rostov-on-Don two months ago.

In the brief video clip distributed on Monday via the Wagner Group’s official Telegram account, Prigozhin suggested he was fighting in Africa, while recruiting new Wagner troops.

“Justice and happiness for the African people. We're making life a nightmare for ISIS and Al-Qaeda and other bandits," Prigozhin said in the address, adding that Wagner is “taking true warriors into service” to continue “fulfilling the tasks that were set.”

In the Wagner Group’s Telegram post, a recruitment telephone number and email address were shared, too — the former, as of Tuesday, is not in operation.

Since the civil insurrection in June, Prigozhin was temporarily exiled to Belarus by Russian President Vladimir Putin, where Wagner troops have been training the last few months. Though he later returned to Russia for a brief period, the status of the force — or Prigozhin’s leadership status for that matter — is currently unknown.
