Viswanathan Anand praised Gukesh D, who surpassed him to enter the top 10 of live chess ratings. "The significant thing I think is that he is in the top 10 now. Maybe the first Indian besides me to be in the top 10. That's a very notable achievement," Anand told NDTV. Gukesh overtook his idol Anand in the live world (FIDE) rankings with a win over home favourite Misratdin Iskandarov in a second-round match of the World Cup.
